Re: Kitten's teeth
Yes, cats lose their baby teeth just like we do
![]() It is usually around 5-6 months old, but the back teeth are a bit later (just like us) - perhaps the CP thought she was a bit older than she really is? Anyway Im sure there's nothing to worry about. Quote:

Re: Kitten's teeth
sorry to hijack your thread but what is the regular age for kittens to loose their baby teeth ?
ive often wondered if my cat is teething sometimes due to him play biting, what do i need to look for, is there the issue that he might swallow the baby teeth ? is this dangerous ? |

Re: Kitten's teeth
my 6 month old boy is currently teething, he has a great case of gingivitis to go with it too.
if you look at your kittens gums, they may well be a little sore/red, thats a siign of teething. |

Re: Kitten's teeth
Usually around 5-6 months - one thing you very often notice at this age is that the kitten has double canines, i.e. the adult one has grown in before the baby one falls out! It looks quite strange but the baby ones soon fall out. I think they do often swallow them, as you rarely find any teeth lying around, and it does no harm at all. The gums can be a bit swollen and red where the new teeth are coming in, and sometimes it can cause quite a bit of pain and the kitten will claw at its mouth and face, doing quite a bit of damage. I've had a few kittens who've done this and it's awful to watch them.
