Question Kitten not eaten- should I be worried

We brought our ragdoll girl home today. I am just a bit worried as she hasn't eaten since she got home. She had breakfast this morning as usual.

She has gone for a wee twice and has been drinking some water.

Is it normal for kittens to not eat on the first day in their new home?

Thank you for any advice and help you can give

Hay Very normal she might even be off food for a few days so dont worry.

she is in a new home and frightened no mum no litter mates no safe smells, in a few weeks you wont even remember all of this, just keep her safe and dont keep picking her up and following her about just let her explore and discover in her own time and she will start to come to you, make sure your lap is comfy & full of hugs & treats and she can come & go as she pleases from it

i totally agree with Taylor, let her do as she pleases, keep fresh food down, and dont keep staring at her, it intimidates them.

Good Luck

she had eaten a little dry food today but still no wet food, I've been putting it out as usual though so we keep her to the same routine

Re: Kitten not eaten- should I be worried

my mum bought a ragdoll kitten 2 weeks ago and she did exactly the same thing!

she went nearly 48 hours withought eating

im a nurse so i took her to work with me for a check over and the minuite i put her in the cattery she ate breakfast!!!!

i think she could sense that she would be poked and prodded by a vet if she didnt eat soon - lol

after that she went home and has eaten fine ever since.
I would also try a feliway diffuser or spray, it can really help the settling in process.

good luck with your new raggie
