Finally... on the road to recovery

Hi all,

Four weeks ago my lovely boy Sandy fell from his scratcher and broke two bones in his foot. He required a two hour operation to fix this with the possiblity of another op to stabilise a smashed bone in his foot.

After four weeks of cage rest he can finally come out and be alllowed into a bedroom with no furniture to climb on. Tomorrow he has his xrays to check that everything is healing the way it should be. He has been so brave and so patient during this time. He has left his dressings alone and allowed his leg to heal.

Can everyone send him some good vibes for tomorrow. I am really hopefully that the bandage can come off in another two weeks and the worst part of his ordeal is over. He is a very very special boy who means the world to us. I just want him 100% again!

Izzie

Sending Sandy strong positive vibes for a full recovery and good news from the xrays. Well done Sandy for being well behaved and leaving it to heal, sending you a big hug too.

Oh thanks Pamela thats really kind. Its been a very hard month watching him in that pen.He has dealt with the whole situation with his usual calm and sweet disposition, he is a total star in my eyes. I can't wait to put the pen away tomorrow and watch him enjoy his freedom or a bit more for the time being.

Best wishes

Izzie

Aww, bless his little soul!! That really made me feel sad, the thought of him in his pen. Loads of vibes to Sandy, and well done for being a good boy! Hope he is back on the road to recovery asap.

AH thanks Biawhiska, Im just so pleased he is not stuck in the pen anymore, it was obviously starting to really get him down. Im looking forward to getting his bandage off so he can stretch his leg and hopefully bend it again, that is the big test.

ah thank you. It has been an awful time really, luckily he is a very sedate cat who likes relaxing. I can't wait for him be able to wander around the apartment and be able to sunbathe on the balcony again. I think its going to be a while before he is totally back to his old self but we are heading in the right direction.
