Plums, bits and other things!

Alfie is due to be neutered next week - after his bout of diarrhea the vets wanted to wait until he had put a bit of weight back on before they put him under, but he seems to have discovered his plums and his horny side and constantly sits on Audreys face, errm, rubbing himself

She doesnt seem to mind (dirty booger!) but i am concerned he might go too far, or she might get annoyed with him. Can i do anything to stop this or will it be ok for a week??

Re: Plums, bits and other things!

Is Audrey spayed ? If she is he will be OK for a week, I am sure Audrey will put him in his place if he gets too much. If she isn't spayed, I would separate them when you can not keep an eye on them.

Re: Plums, bits and other things!

My 2 boys were at it for a month before they were fixed. Neither was fussy as to who was the giver and who was the taker. I was more concerned about love juice on the duvet as I was woken up in the night to the two of them humping. It stopped immediately after the chop. I was more concerned about how it could lead to non play fighting (they would have the scruff of the neck in the mouth while the bottom would bounce), and also of spraying.

Ooh yes - all are 'done' apart from Alfie as he's just 5.5 months old and a bit underweight.

She doesnt seem to mind but Alfie is quite vigarous. I dont remember Barney or Baxter ever being like this but I guess it just depends on the maturity of the cat?

Re: Plums, bits and other things!

The vets insisted I wait until they were 6 months old and one was not and I wanted them done together so I had to endure for 3 or 4 weeks iirc. The receptionist at the vets said it's a dominance thing and not a sexual thing. She didn't see the pink penis poking it's head out all the time though and cat booty going for it. I didn't know whether to get pink toys for them or what. So they were fixed, and I said so glad they will stop humping, it was getting very sex maniac styley and she said it will continue for a while yet. It stopped dead
