Re: Cat Litter..

have only used Catsan clumping so far and been impressed, clumps very well, had no smell and only tracks slightly around the hooded tray, its like tiny bits of grit so it sweeps up easy with dustpan and brush, its texture is like sand really in the tray so very soft, they seem to like it, hope that helps.

Re: Cat Litter..

For those that use Oko, how often do you do a total cleanout of the tray, as in empty, bleach tray, new litter, etc? Apparantly it only needs to be done every 6 weeks, that can't be right?

Re: Cat Litter..

Do it once a week but I may put back the same litter depending, with top up. My cats are outdoor during day, so only use at night.

Re: Cat Litter..

Well i went with the Oko Plus 5kg bag from PAH, and so far im pretty impressed..

I just clean out all her little wee balls (hehe) and poo when shes done it, and just give it a quick rake to flatten it all off again and jobs done

Its very soft.. and she doesnt seem to object at all

My only issue is that because the particles are so fine.. when she's covering she flicks it all out of the hooded tray.. so now im having to sweep up around her littler tray EVERY time she goes, rather than at the end of the week when her wooden litter would be turning to power - this is annoying..

Re: Cat Litter..

We use the Bob martin silica crystals. Recently purchased 15 x 5 ltr bags for about 35 quid from pet-supermarket.co.uk

Smells fresh and very absorbent for our cat!

I picked up the Gold version of Oko this weekend and so far 5 wees and 1 poop, and there is only 4 pieces have tracked. As you say, with the previous stuff I was vacuuming a lot. I picked 4 packs up for £24 at the Surrey and Sussex cat show, trying to remember the stall so I can order some more for that price.

Re: Cat Litter..

We were using wood based litter from P@H but one of our cats didn't seem to like it. So we changed over to Sophisticat pink and so far so good

Re: Cat Litter..

It's bigger bits. They are pellet sized. Works in the same way. However, I will say I have noticed the dust thing that came at the bottom of the normal oko also. But as long as that's just on the bottom, and they just dig with these pellets fingers crossed a lot less tracking.

Re: Cat Litter..

Sorry if this is a silly question but what does "tracking" mean.

I have Oko Plus ready for when I get my kitten at the weekend as the breeder uses it.
