Still having problems with Sasha eating

I am still after weeks having problems with her eating cat food, i have tried different brands but have stuck with jelly as her previous owner said not to give her food in gravy as her poo is awful afterwards as long haired.

One day she will eat the food, next day she wont. It may just be she is a little fussy lady but am pulling my hair out with her now. Even gave her a tin of tuna yesteday and she ate a mouthful and then walked away.

Im now wondering is it the jelly that she does not like?

Do they do cat food with just the meat and no jelly or gravy?

I have tried to give her chicken roll and sliced ham which she loved but dont feel i can just give her that everyday.

Please has anyone got any tips for me

xxx

Re: Still having problems with Sasha eating

Have you tried hi life pouches? They have a nice firm texture, no slop, and are good quality food with 60% meat? You could get a couple and try her on them?
I don't know how old she is but if she's a kitten , kitten Applaws is a good wet food too, no jelly or gravy.

Thank you, i will try the hi life and see how i get on, she is 18 Months old.

And apparently was only fed on dry biscuits so obviously me introducing her to wet food is different for her but she is only eating a handful of biscuits a day as well. So i cant even keep her on dry food now as have introduced her to the good stuff!!!

It's bog standard, the better ones have the higher proportion of named meat, and fewer odd additives like plant proteins and grain starches.

Re: Still having problems with Sasha eating

Natures Menu is more of a pate type food, no jelly or gravy and 60% meat. Other than that hi life as has already been suggested, or try zooplus.co.uk for a good range of foods. Only trouble with them is though, most of them are sold in 6s, so if she turns her nose up at them then you will end up being the local cat rescues best friend. That said I have only seen Natures Menu in boxes not sold singly. Sainsburys sell the hi life chicken and turkey as single sachets.

If you have a human food she particularly likes, you could try mixing that with a little bit of a sachet, then gradually increase the sachet proportions.

for reducing her dry intake

Thank you, it has just come as a bit of a shock as all my other cats that i have had, have been fed on tinned cat food and wolfed it down and that is it. They would eat anything.

I have never had such a fussy cat.

zooplus: Bozita tinned food comes in 6 packs but unlike the tetra packs is very solid. No jelly and no gravy. The tetra packs have jelly.
