Kitten in heat

Hello everybody, I was planning to get my little one (Abby, nearly 6 months old) spayed soon, she was going to get checked this Thursday but I believe she is in heat already...For the past 2 days she's been extremely cuddly, meowing for very long times because she wants to go out and rubbing herself against everything all the time. I normally let her go outside, but I've kept her in since. What i would like to know is if there is anything that I can do to make things better? She seems in pain every now and then, and not very happy about what she's going through! And is there anything else I should be careful about, apart from not letting her out? Any hints and tips? It's the first time I have a cat so I'm a bit lost! thank you!

Re: Kitten in heat

Hello and welcome

Well done for keeping her in. Try very hard to keep her in, however much she tries to escape.

Get her spayed asap - 5-6 months is the usual age but some vets will neuter at 13 weeks

Re: Kitten in heat

Just keep her in. Have her spayed once she has stopped calling.

Hi BC, yes no matter what guilt trip she tries to pull(and she will)-keep her in,she's not in pain hun, just a bit horny and maybe a tad confused-she'll get over it especially when she's been spayedAlso you can still take her to the vets on Thursday even though she's in call
