cat has lost weight

i have 2 cats mother and daughter
they are both spayed
mother seems healthy but the daughter who is 8 in april has recently lost a fair bit of weight
this has happened over the last month or two we have tried changing her dry food but this isnt helping
i am scared im going to lose her
any ideas what could be wrong??

Sometimes cats will loose weight when they need worming. Also it might be a good idea to have a check at the vets to rule out any other more serious problems like kidney or thyroid problems. Try not to worry to much and get kitty check ASAP.

I would take her to the vet just to be on the safe side, as animalia has already mentioned, she may need worming or something else could be the cause. Jasper lost alot of weight within a few weeks, we had blood tests done last month and discovered he suffers with hyperthyroidism and is now on tablets to control it. Hope your little baby is ok, but it's definatley worth taking her for a check up sooner rather than later. xxx
