Hugo the Heffalump

I weighed my 8 month old burmese neuter yesterday....... 4.3kg!

He's not overweight - has a good waist, no belly and ribs feelable.
His breeder said he was going to be a big boy but I'm wondering just how big he's going to get? What's the heaviest other burmese slaves have had?

Re: Hugo the Heffalump

At 8 months he may not grow all that much more..... my Rusty is something like 5.5kg at a guess, but i haven't weighed him in ages. I reckon my stud boy is at least 5kg too, he's very solid. burmese are supposed to be "heavier than their appearance would indicate"

one of my siamese is a "big boy" he is huge. i found once i got him off biscuits and just gave him wet/raw he slimmed down to a nicer size. i think most of his trouble was he was very bloated from all the carbs and c**p in the dry.

Re: Hugo the Heffalump

My Burmese boy (6 months and entire) is very solid - every time I pick him up I am surprised at how heavy he is (can't weigh him, no suitable scales, but he must be the heaviest cat I have even though all the adults are bigger). When I first got him aged about 16 weeks I thought he was huge. Since then he doesn't actually seem to have grown a lot (I suppose he must have done though) but he must have doubled in weight I should think. There's not an ounce of spare flesh on him either, it's all solid muscle. He seems to exercise it by galloping up and down the stairs at about 70mph on a regular basis and opening doors (including the FRONT door a few days ago! )

Liz

I ended up buying extra long scales from argos, they are just the right size for a cat to stand on being more rectangular.
We have to keep the back door locked now because Hugo quickly worked out how to push the handle down.....

Biawhiska, one of mine is allergic so no dry food has been put down in my house for a while and they only eat raw and high meat content wet so it won't be carbs.

I will charge my camera up and put some pics on, I've not done any for ages and my vervain has filled out nicely now, in fact she's the one with the biggest tummy!
