8 week old kitten with diarrhoea

Hi, I have an eight week old kitten that Ive had for a week. The last three nights he's had diarrhoea, which he does outside of his ltter box when he's in his room for the night. His food hasn't changed, we're feeding him a mixture of wet and dry. He's drinking water normally and is otherwise fine, any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: 8 week old kitten with diarrhoea

If he is still runny - take him to the vets - kittens can dehydrate incredibly quickly and die. The vet can give him something to pick him up and make sure it's nothing more serious.

Re: 8 week old kitten with diarrhoea

As already said, don't give him milk as most cats don't digest it and can cause the runs. (cat milk it ok tho)
If you have switched food, put him back on what he was eating before.
It could be stress due to being in a new place?
Feliway spray is good for creating a calm atmosphere for new cats.
Keep a good eye on him and make sure he has no other symptoms.
Good luck..
