Question Is this information right... ???

For the diseases;

Rhinotracheitis...

Calicivirus...

Leakaemia...

Vaccinations usually start between 6 and 8 weeks of age and need a booster every 3-4 weeks until they reach 16 weeks of age. Then the immunizations are recommended annually. (???)

Is this the same for each disease? and does anyone know how the vaccines are given? I can't find that info anywhere

Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Love, a stressed Trace lol x

Re: Is this information right... ???

calici, rhinotracheitis[herpes] and panleucopenia [enteritis] are given usually at 9 weeks and then 12 weeks. Leukaemia can be done at the same time or at a later date. Depending upon the vaccine manufacturerer, there is an option to add in chlamydiosis to these basic vaccs as well.

The suggestion for initial vacc at 6 weeks, and then two more courses has not yet been widely taken up I don't think.

the vaccs are usually drawn up into a single syringe and then injected into the scruff. The area should be wiped with an alcohol swab to make sure no droplets are accidentally left on the fur that might be accidentally ingested by another cat/kitten as the vaccines are not suitable for oral dosing and could cause nasty reactions like that.
