best way to keep teeth clean?

Our nearly 6yr female Had 2 of her teeth out yesterday and had them all cleaned and polished now i dont really want them to get like that again as it was really sore for her. She very touchy about her mouth and at the mo its a battle getting the anti-biotics in her so i dont think brushing them is an option.

Our those dentistix things for the cats any good??

Re: best way to keep teeth clean?

Logic gel is good, you don't need to brush, it has an enzymatic action so 'self cleans' You can squirt it in , or if you're lucky she might eat it on some food or from your finger.

Re: best way to keep teeth clean?

Once she has healed up there are a few options you could try:
  • raw chicken wings or drumsticks - chewing through raw meat, sinue and bone help clean teeth the way Mother Nature intended
  • logic gel - is supposed to work on its own but is better brushed on. You can use a bit of gauze wrapped round the end of your finger is thats easier than a brush. You can get enzymatic toothpastes as well, which help too. All are very palatable.
  • homeopathic Fragaria 6c helps stop plaque build up.
  • Plaque Off, small scoop added to food is supposed to help stop plaque build up too.

If she has dry biscuits, those can add to plaque build up, not remove it as claimed. Cheaper biscuits and wet food contain sugars as well which all add to the problem.
