How much should i feed him?

Hi all i'm mum to 10 month old oscar. I feed him 3 pouches of whiskers a day, put dry food out for him and he has water. As a treat sometimes he gets cat milk. He also gets cat treats but not every day. Lately i have been feeding him and half an hour later he is asking to be fed again! He has a bit of a tummy on him but i wouldn't say he is over weight. I think he is going to be a big boy when he grows up . Just wondering how much should i be feeding him?? Is he just being greedy or is he genuinely hungry?

Re: How much should i feed him?

hi i would cut down to two pouches a day as well as dried food.

if he looks a little tubby not to worry as long as he is happy.

cats can be little greedy and i would stay firm and not over feed, as he will end up with a weight problem.

Hiya,

Two pouches a day should be fine, you could also treat him to a bit of tuna but not much as its very addictive! You could also try him on a tiny bit of raw beef, chicken thighs so he can give his teeth a good work out, introduce a tiny bit of raw to his pouch dinner see what he does.

Re: How much should i feed him?

I think my little kitten Fluffy would eat constantly, all day if I let him! I usually feed him a pouch of Hi-life in the morning and then later in the afternoon he'll have 1/2 tin of Applaws or 1/3 tin Porta21, then later in the evening he has another 1/2 pouch of Hi Life. I also leave some Orijen dry food out in the day.

Sometimes instead I'll replace one of these meals with some cooked meat, tinned tuna or poached fish.

He gobbles each meal down in seconds and looks at me as if he wants more but I try to ignore his begging!!!
