Will cat insurance cover a problam that is already there if you have no cat insurance

...i have no cat insurance, but my cat has a lump that he needs removed, he has been seen by a vet, the lump has been tested and appartently its fat (he is a bit overweight). The lump has got a bit bigger and is possibly painful so i would like to have it removed. If i get pet insurance - will it cover the cost of the operation?

Many thanks.

You can check , but no I don't think a new policy would cover pre existing conditions.

In a nutshell NO - and the lump will already be listed on the cats records at the vets - and the insurance company would request this info from your vet.

have you ask the vet the approx cost of having the lump removed?

I havent asked for a qoute yet - but just finding out what the lump was, was £100. Any idea how much it would be ish? Anyone? So i can prepare myself with a face of non shock when the vet tells me?

Only your vet can answer that - I would not have thought it would have been too expensive though, infact not a lot more then it would cost you to take out insurance and pay the excess
all the best

Yes the insurance will find out becasue they will ask for the full medical history for a claim from your vet. You could get done for fraud.
