which litter is best
What litter do you all use? I've been using the 'Ultra White' cat litter from Pets at home which is really good for wees but I find it sometimes sticks to the bottom of Winston's foot after he's had a poop. It doesn't cover poops very well unless Winston kicks loads of litter over it so I usually end up having to wash Winstons back feet as he has poop on the bottom of the and litter stuck to the fur:

Re: which litter is best
I use Oko Plus and have done for years. Its soft wood bits and clumps. You can flush the clumps and the unused stuff is compostable - so its very 'green'.
They do it in 40l bags which are huge and last ages if you only have one or a couple of cats. I get mine from the Petfood Warehouse - Cat's Best ÖkoPlus Clumping Litter - For Kittens & Cats - Make unpleasant indoor odours a thing of the past! - Pet Products Delivered to Your Door I think they do a discount for bulk orders. P@H sell it too as does Zooplus online.

I'm using 'benevo' which I bought from e.bay. I just had a look at the Oko Plus that Saikou recommended and it looks very similar. it's biodegradable and flushable PETS, Hagen, Remover, Scoop items at low prices on eBay.co.uk I use about half a bag a week and find it very good.

the best one i figured was this corn liter. i get world's best cat litter. it is so safe in every way. it's flushable and it clumps. it has no order at all ever. naturally i clean out any poo right away. but never any smell. i love it. and the crytalls hurt my kittens feet. they are hard and large. the pine ones were large chunks. yuk |

Re: which litter is best
We're using a silicon based litter. I'm not too sure about the bio-degradability I have to admit, but it's really good stuff. It absorbs moisture really quick, and leaves no smell. I forget what the brand is, I think it's something Japanese.
We have been looking into this thing for the last few days though. A bit pricey, but looks interesting. Anyone have any experience with this Cat Genie litter box? |

Re: which litter is best
I am going to give Oko a go, will be picking some up tonight. Our cats are indoor cats so anything to cut down on the smell of solids in the bin until I throw them out, will be great. Will be so much easier to just throw the waste down the toilet. Also I intend to progress onto Litter Kwitter at some point so this is the perfect litter for that or so I have read

We haven't been able to get on with any apart from the wood based ones:

Re: which litter is best
My oko arrived today so I'll be trying it out. I agree...anything is better than having to throw dirty litter in the kitchen bin where is stinks the room out (even if I do out the soiled litter in bages before it goes in)

Re: which litter is best
We use worlds best cat litter at the moment. Cost a a bomb, haven't used anything else yet to compare it to.
So far I can say its doesn't give of much of a smell. Clumps easy to remove big bits hardly any powder still cost is a major factor @ £32.29 for 15KG ![]() |
