Re: Broken foot

me too - all i can assume is that she got onto the top of our big cupboard (normally by way of the cat tree) and then for some reason decided to jump down instead of climbing down the tree and landed badly! She's not in any pain but does have a lump where the new bone is growing back - it will go down again over time. I just feel like a very bad mummy for letting it happen - but then she is as minxy as the kids!

Bless you are not a bad mummy, i remember once we were being nosey out of our upstair window and Boris came flying past us and jumped out of the window down on to the grass below, amazingly he was fine i just screamed when it happened and couldnt look i felt terrible but didnt know he was there, and the other day he was jumping playing with da bird toy and he hit is head on the tv. I'm sure she will be fine and trying to climb back up there in a few weeks. xxx

Re: Broken foot

Your not a bad mummy. We can't watch them 24/7 they will always get up to some kind of mischief when we are not around and sadly yeap they will hurt themselves some times.

Re: Broken foot

I've had a couple of frights in my time too. On two occasions last summer cats jumped out of an upstairs window. The first to make the leap was an eleven week old kitten - I saw him sitting on the windowsill miaowing at me (I was in the garden) but it never occurred to me that he would actually jump out, until he did. That was a bit of a shock I can tell you, but the second was worse - a queen seven weeks pregnant and carrying seven kittens did exactly the same thing. Now that was frightening! The window has been permanetly closed since then!

And then about ten years ago, when I lived in a remote part of Wales where it as 1/4 mile of farm track between my house and the road, I drove off once with a cat on the roof of the car. I didn't realise until the cat jumped off, and by that time (it being a steep downhill road to the village, straight and with excellent visibility, and rather fun to drive down fast) I was doing 60mph. The cat jumped onto the bonnet and straight off into the hedgerow and ran off across the fields. That was even more frightening!

In all cases the cats were absolutely fine, it was me suffering from shock!

Liz
