Re: Kitten looking fat

I posted something similar when Tabitha's snuggle-muffins were younger and was asked if they had been wormed. They had and I was advised (I think) that I couldn't really over-feed a kitten as they are still growing and are so active.

My five all went through a stage of being quite plumpious beings but now they are seven months their tummies are smaller in relation to the rest of them, if that makes sense!

I think they need four meals at that age as their tummies are so tiny they can't eat much at once but need little and often - but again, I'm not a breeder so I may have got that wrong.

Thanks anyway, I have just done a 3 day worming paste so that might help.

I would agree, you can not over feed a growing kitten. Everything even outs in the end They can go through stages of looking round bodied, long legged, then you get the opposite. They seem to grow in spurts too. Store up lots of good stuff, then suddenly grow overnight.

Re: Kitten looking fat

My kitten is 13 weeks old now and had a bit of a pot belly so I took him to the vets last night as I was a bit worried. He's been wormed regularly so after a check up the vets said that he was brobably bloated from the food I'd been feeding him (he's been parping quite a bit recently). (I'd been feeding him on royal canin dry and whiskers kitten wet so she said to try him on 'Hills Perscription ID Diet' for a week or so and see if that helps his digestion. Maybe give that a go too and see if it helps.
