Warning spider bites
I just thought I would all warn you of what a spider bite can do to your cat in a matter of hours.
I noticed yesterday that one of my cats looked like someone had tried to skin her for her fur it was awful and very big so I rushed her to the vet where the vet said she probaly been bit by a spider and this was a reaction to it. I have never seen anything like it. Anyway she had some injections and has cream and it does look a lot better but just wanted you all to know in case you see it on your cat.

Re: Warning spider bites
Eeewww, I hope your cat is okay. I was bitten a few times by a spider some years ago. It made my skin blister around the bite and then it all went blue as if it was bruised. Don't know what spider it might have been as I think I was asleep at the time
Perhaps it was trying to eat me eek:![]() |

Re: Warning spider bites
Thanks for the warning - I must have caught about 6 or 7 this autumn and taken them for a walk up the road and tossed them onto the grass verge for the birdies to find or for them to run off somewhere. They tend to come out in late August through to the first frosts in November in the UK but this can vary.
My catties like to play football with the very large long legged hairy beasties - you know the ones? they can be is big as 8 or 9 cm (about 3.5 inches) in diameter and are generally black or very dark brown. eeek ![]() |
