Sorry another food question :-)

hi all x

just a quick one, i feed my two on High Life pouches (along with JWB biscuits, Natures menu pouches & applaws)

Their main pouches are the high life ones as they like them the best, but my question is, Is it safe to give them a fish one everyday?? I read somewhere fish wasnt good for a cat everyday? Also little maisie who eats anything and everything had a few days with the squits, bless her, could giving her a fish pouch on a daily basis have caused this? Its just there favorite flavor as well!

Thanks x

Hi Maisie, could be ,give them fish every other day and maybe not pouches,it's about the same price for fresh fish if not cheaper,i know it's their favorite flavor but they'll enjoy some other flavors tooMaybe try Maisie on some chicken, til her squits have firmed a little, just a light diet,it is safe for them to have 1 fish everyday just maybe doesn't agree with them

If you have a Lidl near you, you can get cheap frozen pollack sp? I boil it and then mush it up. They absolutely love it and it has no skin or bones. That would be good to feed as a once a week treat

Re: Sorry another food question :-)

I bought the pollock from Lidl, my cats loved it, but it did have quite a few bones in, I had to go through it carefully once cooked

the only cheap fish I've found not to have any bones in was TEsco's white fish fillets but it's never available these days.

Oh dear, I've never spotted a bone in it yet and I do go through it well when mashing. I'm gonna be paranoid about that now, will have the magnifying glass out

Thanks everyone x

i will try some steamed fish this weekend and see how they get on.

It so hard trying to find a food that suits them both! Maisie will eat Natures Menu, Miley wont, one likes chicken flavors, one doesnt, etc etc, they are so funny, they are fussier than me with my food!!
