Shadow And Lightning will become famous soon enough
this may sound like a stupid question but...

does a cats stomach grow with age? or with the size of the cat? the cats have been eating a lot more recently, shadow usually will only eat just under 2 pounches and hes just had 3 in the last hour, lightnings asking for his 5th one!

Re: this may sound like a stupid question but...

Given their age i would say they're getting ready for a growth spurt, my 10 month boy goes through phases of eating loads then goes back to normal after a week or two. Kittens need to be fed as much as they want, although sometimes it feels like they'll eat me out of house & home! Hopefully they'll slow down soon
Vampyria and Treaclesmum like this.

Lightening has had 4 pouches in the last hour? What are you feeding them?

Yes, as they grow their stomachs grow too (in proportion) but yours' are probably going through a growth spurt...

Re: this may sound like a stupid question but...

yeah what are you feeding them? Maybe the food you're feeding is no longer satisfying their needs as they get older? Just a thought.....

Jumpy and Treacle currently munch through 3 pouches EACH every day PLUS Hills dry! Jumpy eats most of his pouch, then leaves a bit and then comes back about 10 minutes later to scoff the rest!! They do eat alot when they're growing!!!

Re: this may sound like a stupid question but...

I think my two must be going through a growth spurt - they seem to be eating half of a 400g tin of Smilla, Bozita or Animonda Carny each as well as 200g each of Macs or grainless Grau every day this week!

I was thinking exactly the same. Mika has been crying and crying for food for the last three days and no matter what I give her, she just wants to eat and eat. So I wormed her last night. This morning she was not half as bad as she has been. So in Mika's case it clearly is looking like worms.

Well I get the feeling Jumpy would be eating constantly if I left wet food out all day........
