Kitten has cuts on his face

They are only around 17 weeks and play and fight all the time.

But yesterday when i got home i noticed some scabs on George's face which I'm sure Lola has given him.

The only thing is, I've read ( i think on here) that if kittens get too rough they will let out a certain meow to the other cat to back off. George doesn't meow ever. He tries, and can see his mouth try to meow, but nothing comes out.

Should i be worried? I've seen them play fight, and they both give as good as they get, and I've heard Lola meow to stop the fight.

I guess I'm asking, how do i know when its getting too much and need to stop them without ruining their fun?

Re: Kitten has cuts on his face

Cats rely on body language for communication A LOT more than they do vocalisation, so I would not worry about his lack of meaow.
The youngsters DO play rough, but as long a they are both as bad as each other then I wouldnt worry too much about the scratches ( or the tufts of fur flying if it is anything like my house! )

Thanks for your reply!

I think I'm more worried because there on his face, when usually there on his ears.

He always looks like he's been in the wars!

I would trim both their claws to try and keep the scratches to a minimum.
