Dexter got a bad tummy :(

well ok this is what has happened

Yesterday Breakfast - Eaten no issues gobbled it as usual
Yesterday Dinner - Didn't come down just thought he would want it later (ddex is not obsessed with food at all)

Today Breakfast - refused to eat it but would eat 5 dreamies
30 mins after eating dreamies has the runs with some blood in it and vomits what looks like a meal?!?!

Now he is refusing to have any other treats i have some pro-biotic being deliver d today luckily cause my fosters often get running toilet when they first arrive so i had bought it

Any thoughts OBVIOUSLY HE IS GOING TO VETS TOMORROW IF THIS IS STILL ONGOING
BUT i would be very grateful if anyone has had this before

Re: Dexter got a bad tummy :(

How old is Dexter Raggiedoll? (sorry if it says in your signature but I cannot see them) Has he vomitted since breakfast? Had runny poop? Or has this been a one-off?

He is only 4
He hasn't eaten breakfast and literally this morning and i think overnight the runs started but it seems like something between yesterday breakfast and last night something happened not a clue what

He vomited after the treats and had the runs with the blood for the first time

So, is he still runny? Considering that he isn't a kitten any more, I would just starve him for the rest of the day and then feed him some plain boiled chicken.

Was the blood dark red or bright red? Was there a lot of it or just a smidgen?

Did you try out a new food yesterday? Did you recently worm him?

Thank you Hobbs for answering the blood was darkish and there was like 2 cm of it. No new food has been tried i have some wormer here now but he hasn't been wormed in a couple of months.

Whats strange is all the others are fine and so was he yesterday morning and all day just the night time.

He eats JWB as HE will NOT eat anything else tried him on the boizta as my diabetic LOVES it but wont touch it so JWB it is but he is refusing that anyway but you think boiled chicken i will do that.

I'm really hoping its one off as he has had normal poo till now

Hmm, how is he doing otherwise? Is he perky or is he a little lethargic? Could he have eaten something around the house?

Ok, well that is good. So, starve him for today, then see whether he will eat the boiled chicken, you can also give him some prokolin as PP suggests but if he isn't any better tonight/tomorrow morning or if he turns lethargic then pop him to the vet as planned. Probably just one of those things.

Good luck and let us know how he gets on.
