Profender spot-on wormer

Today Jezebel had a tapeworm on her bum so OH insisted we take immediate action of a chemical sort. No more of my tree-hugging diatomaceous earth (which I''ll admit I haven't been totally consistent with--consistency is key with DE). Now, we don't have anything but pills in this horrid country for deworming, or so I thought. And I so hate to pill a cat--I like having my hands rip free and we've got 8 of them to pill. Google came to my rescue and I see that we now have Profender spot-on treatment available for cats. And it kills all the common nasties including flea tape worms.

So, does it work? Or is it crap like other kinds of wormers you get at the pet store? I'm praying someone says it works---I don't believe we have any worms in the family except the flea tape worms, and since it contains praziquantel, I really think it should work. But please, tell me honestly (although you'll ruin my whole day if you say it's worthless)

xx

Re: Profender spot-on wormer

Profender is one of the most comprehensive wormers on the market and easy to apply.

Re: Profender spot-on wormer

I know a lot of people use it with no problems but we had to take Maisie back to the vet after using it, she didn't do well on it at all, and was quite ill.

Before you go ahead, please consider Googling the side effects. If I had read about it before going to the vet for worming I would never have let her have it.

Obviously it depends on the cat, but it is best to be aware and make an informed decision, rather than have a sick cat, or worse.
