Applaws Wet - Pouches vs Tins

I vaguely remember reading on here (or somewhere else can't remember and can't find it now) that there either was (or possibly was due to where it was made), a difference in quality between the two types of Applaws wet.

Does anyone know if this is true, and if so, which is better.

Currently we buy the pouches, and the boys get 1 pouch each per week, as a treat in addition to their normal food.

However, as both pouches and tins seem to be readily available here in Norway, it occurs to me that if there is a difference, it would make sense to make sure we are buying and feeding the better version of this food.

I understand it is just a complimentary food, and doesn't meet their nutrional needs, which is why they get it once per week as a treat.

Horses for courses in my opinion. The pouches are just another way to package their complementary food and to charge customers more. You might get some different flavours but quality-wise, I cannot see a difference.

More worryingly, though. I just had a look on zooplus and nowhere do they actually state that this is complementary (treat) food. Mind, they don't say it is complete either but again they are trying to make as much money as possible from unsuspecting customers by just stating that it is "natural" food.

I got sucked into it, thinking I was giving my cats the best

I still have some sachets which I'm finishing off within my rotation, they have a sachet every other day.

I would so love it if this food were complete, smells good and the kitties love it more than anything! Makes them ignore the rest of their food for a while though

I can't understand why the manufacturers can make complementary good food, but not complete!! It's the same with Feline Fayre from Asda!!

It's a favourite here too - with their normal food the boys will swap dishes or eat from the same one quite happily - when the Applaws goes down, it's every kitten for himself. They started off on one pouch between them, but that quickly gave way to a full pouch each.

Thankfully they will finish off thier pouch, and then a while later tuck into the Bozita when it goes down, so I'm happy to keep feeding it to them as a treat.

Re: Applaws Wet - Pouches vs Tins

I was feeding this and bozita as wet (and both brands as dry) before I found this forum. I'd ordered from zooplus and spoke to two pet stores and no-one advised that it was complementary . Should have looked it up myself originally, but would be nice if the information was on zooplus too.

From memory the packets were better received but I couldn't find any real difference between the two. Getting one of the boys off applaws wet was a challenge though, but I suspect it was more of a texture than a taste thing.
