Drontal tablets - ok for kittens?

Just looking at buying wormers online rather than a vet visit each month. Are Drontal tablets ok for a 5 mth old kitten? Obviously will need to check weight each time.
Looks to me like they are ok but just want to check before I order...

Yes it must go on weight, for smaller kittens it's just half a Drontal tablet. If you can check the weight, that's fine. You may find the kitten will not take it, either crushed up or disguised, so a vet trip may be needed to get it down him!!

Re: Drontal tablets - ok for kittens?

From the datasheet on Noah - looks like they're fine for anything over 2kg. The contra indications do say not for use in kittens under 6 weeks but it would be unusual for a 5 week old kitten to weigh over 2kg

Dosage and administration
The recommended dose rates are 57.5 mg/kg pyrantel embonate and 5 mg/kg praziquantel. This is equivalent to one Drontal Cat Tablets per 4 kg body weight and 1 Drontal Cat XL Film-coated Tablets per 6 kg body weight.
See dosage chart below for examples:

No of Drontal Cat Tablets

2 kg ½
4 kg 1
6 kg 1½

Administration and Duration of Treatment
For single oral administration. The tablets should be given directly to the animal, but if necessary can be disguised in food.
Use During Pregnancy and Lactation
Not to be used during pregnancy but may be used during lactation.

Thanks all. He's really easy to get tablet down thankfully. He's been worked monthly at moment but thought I might start ordering online and weighing him myself rather than vets visits so often.
