Re: Cat grieving/depression?

Actually the RCVS website has a search facility where you can look for vets with ( additional ) recognized qualifications/specialisms in different fields in your area.

Re: Cat grieving/depression?

My vet just rang me, and said that Marlow's pancreatic test was completely normal, so now we're just waiting for his fecal test results to come back. He said it was a good idea to try mixing some wet food in with his Orijen to see if it encourages him to eat. He said as long as it's a good quality wet food. I have ordered some Bozita pate type food, which should arrive today.

Re: Cat grieving/depression?

Good to hear the pancreatitis test was normal-not a nice thing to have. Wonder what the fecal sample will reveal.

Hope the wet encourges him to eat more and the problem is sorted this way!

Re: Cat grieving/depression?

Thank you very much. I really don't think he has Giardia again, as it gave him really bad runs all the months he had it, and he has normal poos now.

Re: Cat grieving/depression?

My vet rang me earlier today with Marlow's poo test results. He said everything was negative, so no nasty bugs at all! I told him that I'd just got some Bozita pate food, and that Marlow loves it and is scoffing the lot! He was very pleased he was eating, but wanted to make sure it was good quality food, so he looked it up online whilst on the phone, and said he thought it looked excellent, so he advised to feed him on this for a couple of months, and hopefully he will put weight back on, then we'll re weigh him, but obviously if he stops eating, or goes downhill, then I have to take him back before. Just praying now that Petplan pay the 500 odd pounds that it's cost for all the tests etc!!!

Re: Cat grieving/depression?

Pleased to hear that Marlow is eating again. Hopefully he will pick up and gain some weight.
