Re: Best Quality Wet Food from Supermarket?
I would take a read - very informative.

I feed my two kitties one tin a day (400g between them). It's about £1 a tin. With Asda's "Tiger" pouches, you get 40x100g for £8. You could also get 48x100g Felix pouches for £10. Whoever quoted 58p for Whiskas per 100g - where the hell were you buying it from?! Here's some quick math: Andy Carney = £0.25 per 100g Asda = £0.20 per 100g Felix = £0.21 per 100g Obviously with ZooPlus you can get around 15% off through various discounts (top cashback, loyalty etc.). While Andy Carney still works out 4p more expensive (per 100g), with the discounts and the much better quality in the food, it'll does work out cheaper, plus you're feeding them much better quality food. I never really listened to the recommended "what you should feed a cat" though. Surely for a fat cat, you should be feeding them less? I went on what they had before and friends who have cats. Mine are happy on what I give them and they do have Asda Tiger dry to graze on in the day, although this is slowly being phased out. Raw food on the other hand works out at about £0.12 - £0.15 per 100g for DAF meat, depending on where you purchase it. When I move house, my cats will love me even more when I move them on to this. I haven't been here long myself. Try searching back through some of my old posts. I often try and work out prices and stuff and will post what I do for others. Obviously some of the prices may have changed since though. Last edited by anotheruser; 22-01-2012 at 06:18 PM.. |

I took it off Zooplus TODAY. I wouldn't buy it from there or anywhere!

Re: Best Quality Wet Food from Supermarket?
I ordered some animonda carny to try on Monday but it's not here yet!! I am waiting to mix it in with the Royal Canin sensitivity control to see if I can get them off that. I mixed in some natures menu this morning and came down to a right stink!!

Re: Best Quality Wet Food from Supermarket?
Try going cold turkey and giving it to them straight? If they gobble it down, then you have a choice.
Others choose to mix it in, my kitties aren't fussy. Maybe I just got lucky as some people's cats seem to be very particular in what they will eat. Cats are just over a year and then 7 months or so. They don't appear to want anymore than what I give them though as they don't eat all their wet in one sitting. |

My cat eats mostly raw, but sometimes I give her tinned food. Gourmet/Perle and Whiskas pouches were the two she promptly vomited. Cheap generics have been ok. Wondering if there's some ingredient I should avoid. |
