well i am having to go to the vets

i have had my wegie kittens now for 7 weeks and since they have arrived, i have had trouble with their bowels.
they are being fed on felix kitten and rc kitten which the breeder suggested, but their poo has been soft.
last week i advised to just give them their rc kitten for 48 hours and then they had chicken breast with rice but it hasnt made any differencfe. otherwise they are as energetic as usual.
would like to try some of these foods that everybody raves about but would prefer to get some samples if i can. bozita is def out though, no one likes it here

I'd be careful about feeding your cats yoghurts due to most cats being lactose intolerant - especially if they are already having digestive problems.

Have they been tested for allergies or any other digestive problems? Chicken and rice is usually enough to keep food down.

No they have not been tested and i have asked the breeder for advice and she never said anything.
The chicken and rice made the poo a little smaller and they were going less but it was still soft

I know it's not a poo with blood, but take a look in here, I'd have the same recommendations. You don't need to take the kittens to the vet, only their poos for analysis. That idea about the water fountain seemed to me so great.

I hope it helps. I'm kissing your babies, they're so adorable.

PS. Nope, I wouldn't give yoghurt either, it can actually produce more diarrhoea.

Felix is a much lower quality food than Royal Canin, I would try to ditch the Felix!! Mixing different types of food can cause upsets, it does with mine.

Re: well i am having to go to the vets

I would get them to the vets for a PCR test. My Ragdoll was found to have Giardia from when he was at the breeders! He had the runs for a long time! Tooks ages to sort him. I really hope your kitties don't have it. There are other conditions that could cause this too, so it's a good idea to get their poo samples tested to find out what you're dealing with. Best of luck.

Re: well i am having to go to the vets

Hi I had same problem with my wegies , also on RC kitten I wasnt sure it was that at first but through a process of elimination , i now know , without question, that it is the RC kitten

Now they have Animonda Carney wet and are allowed RC Outdoor (two of my others eat this so its hard to stop them ) and they are fine However , too much RC dry and i know it Recently, they eat so much Carney that they dont bother too much with the dry

I also give raw rabbit fairly regularly which they love

Have you tried Carney ?

Re: well i am having to go to the vets

Edit : not only do they LOVE raw rabbit , it firms them up immediately

May be worth a try ? Tesco currently sell rabbit , two packs for £6 . Very expensive compared to Woldsway per kg but ok just to try rather than having to place a large order
