Kitten Suckling

Hi guys, ive not been on for a while hope you are all well and not too stressed about xmas!

I wanted to ask you all, my boy Digby is now 7 months old and continues to suckle at my dressing gown.

As soon as i sit down he is there kneading and sooking away! I find it really sweet and he seems really contented.

Can anyone tell me why he does it and is it ok to let him as i dont want him getting upset - what am i like!!

Thanks guys and happy christmas!

Re: Kitten Suckling

Hi....aww im so jealous. My cat charlie who sadly had to be PTS 2 years ago used to do that to me...he always left a huge wet patch.

I always thought it was because he was abandoned by his mum at around 3 weeks old and that he had not really learnt his basic lessons in life...i dont know really..but none of my other cats have done it...im so jealous lol

Re: Kitten Suckling

It is perfectly normal for some cats to continue suckling on you,or another cat for a while, this is goggles, nearly a year old, with a surrogate mummyits a comfort thing.

This can be quite common and alot off cats pick wool for some reason. Maybe it reminds him of mummy. I think its really sweet my cat use to just dribble all over me when petted.
