Re: Cat always bleeding when he poops

oh no, sorry to hear about the attack by another cat! Sounds like he has an undetected abscess. The antibiotic injection should help

Well, it never rains but it pours. I was going to call the vet for this, but the other day he was attacked by a vicious cat in the garden. Now, he is not eating and very lethargic. I called the vet is coming later this morning, to give him an antibiotic injection. I will also, tell her about his ongoing bowel problems.

I stupidly emptied his litter tray yesterday and now I do not have any poo samples to give to the vet.

It has been 2 years because I have only recently moved house and he always went outside to go to the toilet, but now he goes indoors in my current place, so I wasn't able to check his poo until now. The poor thing has been sleeping for 2 days now, and he usually never sleeps!

Thanks again everyone for your invaluable advice

Best wishes
Well, I can't stop not noticing your cat had diarrhoea when he was very young, you asked for advice about that in february 2010. The vet recommended then panacur, Hill's i/d and some other antibiotics. As I know, panacur is used against Giardia. I wonder if the treatment at that time was sufficient. Now you say you've just moved house and you had no idea what the poo looked like before. Hmmm

I also can't stop not noticing this is the third (or fourth?) time in 2 years when you mention you cat being attacked. I have found at least 2 different threads you started, in 2010 and 2011. Is he neutered?

If everything you've written here on this forum is true, try to find a solution for your cat's sake.

Best wishes

Anca - Well I cant stop noticing that your post is borderline offensive.

You appear to be suggesting that I am telling untruths.

Can you explain for what reason I would post something false? I dont have time for silly games.

For your information - No, I didn't have any idea of what my cats poo looked like for the last 2 years as he always went outside. Obviously, I saw it when he was a baby kitten, he was hardly likely to be jumping fences to poo elsewhere when he had only just been born.

For your further information - my cat has been not been attacked three of four times in 2 years. The figure is probably closer to 10. I just havent run to this forum to post everytime (which is probably a good thing, as I certainly do not wish to get replies from you).

Just so you know - He was being attacked by a cat living in the street, who was a menace to everyones cat. I had no idea who's it was, despite my best efforts.

And yes, my cat was neutered when he was a kitten.

There, now that you have had your fix of information, I hope you are satisfied. You can go away and pore over it.

Please stop noticing my posts and I will ignore yours. Everyone is happy.

Nope, I can't explain for what reason some people would post something false, but I have observed it happening many times on forums.

I myself don't have much time to play, but I sometimes try to do my best to share my information to help cat owners, as I took my time to give you some advice a couple of weeks ago. Some of the best informed people gave it a "like" and maybe that could have outlined for you what precisely to do with your cat. I will not ask you if you took poo samples for parasitological tests as so many suggested, you'll probably say I am offending you again.

Yes, unfortunately I had the impression you're talking about false things because everything seems to me pretty incredible (sure, that's only my problem). But if it's all true, well, I personally can't see what you can do about all those crazy cats attacking your cat.

Let's say I understand your anger and frustration, because I thought at a certain moment you said lies and because you are in a very uncomfortable situation with your cat, both in terms of his health generally and of his receiving aggression from other cats. Believe me, if I could possibly know who agrees to see my posts before I reply, my life would be a lot easier.

The forum is an open society, I find it hard to believe you write a message so that it gets ignored and that you're the only one who can admire your own post. Unless you write for instance in your signature "I don't want your replies/opinions/advice". Maybe I am not right, but when you ask for an opinion on a forum, you can expect that each person comes with very different view point, good or bad, informative or not. Nobody forces you into anything, you choose what you think it's best for you.

Sure I'll keep that in mind and I'll be attentive to stop noticing your posts.

Anyway, good luck ...
