Smilla & Animonda

Ok, so having done a bit of research I would like to change my cats over to a higher quality food. They are currently on Felix wet and some dry - they're not fussy but I don't know how they would adapt to a pate style food. I've worked out cost (as I would like to keep cost to as similar as it is now) and Smilla and Animonda work out best - I intend on rotating both (unless anyone can recommend another food at similar price) I have three cats so thats around 3 tins per day, which is a lot easier to work out than the pouches they're currently on!
What I wondered was is there anywhere or anyone who can point me in the right direction for some free samples? I don't want to commit to buy if they're going to be wasted. I've checked the voucher & discount thread but theres nothing recent on there, I know I can order x6 cans but feel this might be a waste if they turn their noses up! Also, can anyone recommend a good (but reasonable) dry food, perhaps a complimentary diet.
And lastly, I've noticed that Animonda do a kitten food but can't see one from Smilla, does this mean I can feed my 5 month old the normal Smilla?
Thank you in advance for any advice x

Re: Smilla & Animonda

With these brands you don't need to feed kitten food - just buy the adult stuff - try the Bozita pate as well - the orange and purple tetra packs - and the tins.

Don't know anywhere that does free samples, sorry - I'd just try the small intro packs and then if they like it buy in bulk.

If you really must feed dry go for grain free the cheapest of which is Acana.

Re: Smilla & Animonda

I'll comment on a one point

You may find that you will not need to feed a whole tin for each cat as Smilla and Animonda Carney have a much higher meat content than many supermarket types. I get both, as well as Grau and Nature's Menu.

My two indoor adults get less than half a tin a day each, plus a few bits of kibble as a treat and occassionally meat scraps. Kittens need more though. Adult food is supposed to be fine for kittens.
spid and Dragonlady like this.

Re: Smilla & Animonda

I'm rotating my two six month old kittens on Smilla, Animonda Carny, Macs and a bit of Petnatur - all adult foods, but they're doing really well on it and look much better than they did when they were on Whiskas Kitten pouches

I ordered 6 tins of Smilla, Animonda and Bozita to try out on them (they didn't like Bozita) - perhaps if you place your litter order on Zooplus though, you can add on a couple of tins of the food you want to try, still get free delivery and not have to commit to buying so many!

Re: Smilla & Animonda

You could try Bozita Paté as well.
