Hissy Kitty
I am thinking about putting my 4 year old female cat on Prozac to help with her biting, hissing, growling and overall stress level. For most of her young life, she was the only cat in the house, but I recently adopted a male kitten who is now 9 months old. She'll bite at visitors as well as my husband and I. If the kitten even trys to walk by her she'll growl, hiss, and swat at him. The new kitten is very social and wants to play, but the 4 year old wants no part of it. Has anyone had luck with Prozac mellowing an adult cat out so they become more social? A friend of mine who works in our vets office recommended the Prozac, I'm just torn about giving it to her. I've tried playing more with the 4 year old, but she still seems very stressed and angry.
