Does anyone know where i purchase this per tin (as opposed to a box of 24) online?

I can't ever remember seeing it available singularly online anywhere, as said above vets will usually sell you a small supply. Failing that, you could try ebay:
*Sale* Get TWO tins Hills A/D prescription [Cat/Dog] for £5 inc p+p | eBay Expensive per can but if you only need a couple then still cheaper than buying a case.

If you are looking to syringe feed then I found that Gourmet Gold Pate is the PERFECT consistency for the job, also pretty palatable for the cat, available in all major supermarkets.
