Are they eating enough?

I've changed the diet of my kittens (6 months old) over to Animonda Carny and Smilla (Macs and Petnatur in the post ) and I just wanted to check whether they are eating enough.

Basil (big kitten at 4kg already!) goes through one 400g can of Smilla or AC a day

Sybil (little girl at just over 2kg) probably only goes through half a 400g can a day

Does it sound like they're doing alright?

Re: Are they eating enough?

SOunds okay - feeding recommendations are just that 'recommendations' - and they are still kittens - just feed them when they are hungry.

Thanks spid! This wet food thing is still new to me an they're both such different sizes, want to make sure one isn't eating too much and the other too little!

Best to watch them to make sure they don't nick each other's food!! I have to put Jumpy's wet food out first, and we've had to leave 2 bowls of dry food down throughout the day instead of one, as Jumpy is a much faster eater than Treacle and will hog the bowl for himself if allowed!!

Good quality food should mean they need alot less compared with supermarket brands

Ha ha - yes, basil is very greedy! Even if I feed him first, he'll go for sybil's as well! Works out ok feeding them both at the same time - he's distracted while she eats and Sybil's always had her fill before basil'd finished gobbling his whole bowl!
