delivery today!!!

from zooplus.

ordered some Smillia and Animonda Carny cat food a few days ago after discovering this forum and doing a bit of reading about food. i just wish i'd discovered the forum a long time ago.

i know Cheeky has done absolutely fine in his almost 10 yrs on Whiskas and Kitekat etc but after reading about other better foods available decided to put in an order.

i was so excited i almost felt like trying it myself, lol

i'm sure he will. he's always wanting food, but put that down to him being greedy, it will be interesting to see if that changes with a better food.

Re: delivery today!!!

You can expect a refusal at the beginning, hopefully not though, if you're lucky. I have friends who changed their cats diets from Whiskas/Kitekat/Friskes to better food and some had this unpleasant surprise, it looks like the producers mix that bad food with ingredients greatly enjoyed by cats. Oh, and I think you need to make the change gradually, not to upset the digestive track.

Yep, I imagine your look, most certainly like mine, even without changing the recipe, with the entire attention to alternate the meats and tastes. They suddenly decide "I'm not eating THIS today"
If there were someone to record our faces in such glorious moments, new comedies would invade the cinemas everyday.

Re: delivery today!!!

thank you Anca and kittenfostermummy.

i put alittlle of the Animonda in the bowl beside his usual and he wouldn't eat his usual but scoffed the Animonda. not wanting to upset his tummy i mixed a little Animonda through his usual and he ate that.

i think we'll get on fine with it!!!

Re: delivery today!!!

Totally understand your excitement, am the same! Big delivery of smilla and animonda carny arrived - the kitties are loving it. Got an an order of macs and petnatur arriving soon too

They were also on whiskas before - feel so much better about them eating this food! They came from a shelter where they ate whatever wet cat food they had in, so no fussy tummies really, they're used to change!

Good luck with it all

Re: delivery today!!!

well not looking good on the animonda front, he ate some but has been turning his nose up since.

he like the smillia tuna, haven't tried the poultry and hearts one yet.

maybe wasn't a good idea to buy 30 tins without trying them first

Try not to be too disheartened - it happens! Try again with the Animonda in a few days, he may decide he likes it again while being bored with Smilla! I make sure I alternate the Animonda and Smilla as well.

Mine are a bit like this with their food - one day they gobble it up, another day they aren't bothered. I've discovered that a good way to get them interested in their bowl of food again is to sprinkle a Thrive treat over their food - has worked every time! And it's 100% meat so am not too worried about it.

Never knew cats were such fussy eaters (always had dogs growing up and they would literally eat anything you shoved in front of them!) - love them though
