Has anyone ever given their kitten/cat any marmite?

I was thinking about perhaps adding some hot water to a tiny bit of marmite and then pouring a bit on top of their food. Intention being to ensure adequate fluids and, because the marmite contains vitamins, this surely has to be better than just adding plain water.

Do you think this is a good idea or not?

BAD idea, way too salty and just not designed for a cat.

they generally love marmite - mine try to steal my toast all the time.

It's much too salty though I'm sure for cats. If you mix water up in their food it makes a nice gravy - that's what I do anyway if I open a pate tin and it looks too firm a texture.

They may love it, but it is very bad for them.

They like chocolate and anti-freeze too, and they will kill them.
so the fact that they like something doesn't mean they can have it.....
