Feeding help??

Our kitten has been with us a week and a half on now. She is fab but recently i have been wondering if I might be overfeeding. She is on Kitten food and the advice in shop was half a pouch of wet food and the dry available all the time. However she seems to eat a lot of the dry food and I have actually weighed the recommended amount out today and definately been having more. Should I weigh it and give it her little and often as it says on box.
Also can she when older just have dry food as it tells you how much wet, how much wet and dry if having both but not how much dry if not having wet? Would like her on just dry when older as less smelly.
