Re: Animonda Integra Protect food for kidney failure

Thank you for that, I was warming his food until recently, I have some bowls that come apart and can be filled with warm water, and was giving him a selection of foods in one feeding. At the time he hadn't been diagnosed with the kidney disease, only the heart failure.

To be honest I am not sure if it is his heart or his kidneys that is causing him not to want to eat much. He always wanted his dry food, he was on that when we got him and I had reduced it to 4 kibbles at each meal because of his constipation which he has had for a few years now, and was feeding him what he would eat, which was Whiskas and fresh fish. He would refuse everything else except a bit of chicken from time to time.

I will try again with the heated bowl.

Re: Animonda Integra Protect food for kidney failure

I've been looking at the Integra myself as my cat, Oscar, was diagnosed with CRF last May but after going to another vets and having new tests run his levels had dropped by an astounding amount. I guess you could say he's now "at risk" of rather than has.

I'm unsure whether to try it because of the high Vit A content. I feed Oscar Whiskas as this is the only food I can guarantee he will eat without fail. I mix it with some Renalzin paste which lessens the amount of phosphorous.

Have you considered using Renalzin?

Strangely in the last week I have been warming his bowl with recently boiled water before I put his food in. Seems to work
