Question Schesir cat food

Looks like Encore, but it says its complete food on the tin.

Ingredients:
chicken fillets (min.57%)
rice (1.2%)
cooking water

Analysis:
moisture 83%
crude protein 14%
crude fat 0.8%
crude fibre 0.5%
crude ash 1.5%

Added Vitamins:
vit A 1.325 UI/Kg
vit D3 110 UI/Kg
vit E 15 mg/Kg
taurine 160 mg/Kg

So is this a complete food, that is good for the munchkins, because they loved it - and usually if they love something, its not great!

Any expert advice gratefully received

Fat looks like it's on the low side.

Re: Schesir cat food

I don't think it is - look at Porta21; they claimed for a long time that their food is complete. It even had a balanced ca/p ratio (of some description) but it was low on fat. Well, turns out that it doesn't contain enough of certain minerals and trace elements, so they had to change their declaration.

I treat all of these shredded foods with the same circumspect. Plus, even IF you find a flavour that is complete you might just be setting yourself up for a big problem - just look at the number of people on here who have got fussy cats because they get hung up on that shredded texture.

You could always fire off an email to Schesir to see whether they will share more detailed analyses (particularly mineral ones) with you to get a better picture. Should they do, please share!

Re: Schesir cat food

Good idea - I will email them and see what they say. I just bought a few tins in my ZP order, so they wont have time to get used to it!

I also have some Schmusy to try them on.

I am trying lots of things to see what they will eat - might try Macs as I have seen that has good reviews, but dubious as I need to put in an order big enough to make it worth it, but it wont be worth it if they dont eat any of it!

The RSPCA are doing well out of me at the moment!

I dont think my cats like red meat theough, I also got some lamb and turkey grau, which they dont seem to like, and none of them will eat anything with beef in it!
