litter tray

Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend a good high backed and enclosed litter tray to buy? I've got myself a new kitty and she has a habit of peeing against the back wall of the tray, which then seeps into the join, flows around the edge and then out the side onto the floor :/

Re: litter tray

I have been reading the information on Catinfo.org and thy recommend an open litter box. I was given a deep storage box from the previous owner, but did think about a covered box, I then just bought an open tray from P@H. I am thinking it is a little shallow, so one a bit deeper might be better.

Re: litter tray

I recommend the Modkat (link in Spid's post)

My cats and I like the Modkat so much, I bought a second one a couple of weeks after having the first one and think I'll have to have a third one as I don't like having an odd tray; I want them all to match

O/H thinks I'm crazy spending £300 on litter trays

Re: litter tray

I have a 'Cabrio' as linked in spid's post. It is fairly deep, and the hinged front makes it very easy to clean. The hinged front can also be left up giving an open box at the front (which is what I did initially to get the kittens used to it).

Re: litter tray

I have a Van Ness XL from Pet planet. It is covered and deep. I got itwhen the regular sized covered litter became too small for my cat.

I like the look of the modcat - but isn't it a bit enclosed? I doubt my huge BSH could get in there and even if she did she would just end up breathing in the litter in such an enclosed space.

Re: litter tray

I bought this very cheap tray, which is not exactly covered but it works for my kitten (the top part keeps her away from the walls so everything stays in):
