fadeaway is on a distinguished road
My cat just lay on her back and peed upwards!

Very strange..
she has been snoozing all afternoon on the sofa, sprawled and stretched out like she owns the place.

So she was on her back with her legs in the air looking at me, I go to give her a little tickle when all of a sudden she starts peeing upwards and over herself/the sofa!

When I exclaimed her name and started trying to move her towards the litter tray she stopped pretty quickly, then came back 2 mins later to finish her business in the litter tray.

Bizarre.. any idea what happened? Can cats lose control and have accidents like that?

She has a vet appointment on Wednesday for her snip so I will ask then.

Whilst I haven't experienced it, I have heard of young cats losing control of their bladders when excited much like puppies often do. As long as she was fully responsive, which it sounds like she was and she's acting completely normal then I'd be inclined to put it down to one of those things. Certainly worth mentioning to the vets though.

I would go along with that too if it turns out to be a one-off. If you catch her trying to wee in strange positions or places, phone the vet.
