is this normal?

stroking my marley this morning and im not sure if ive just not noticed before but she felt really thin?

every time somebody comes around they say that cats getting fatter and fatter... yet i could feel the base of her spine and a little way up is this normal???im panicking now shes 7 months old and seems fine

she eats 3 pouches of whiskers and usually around 2 handfuls of biscuits amongst oher treaties she drinks water, sometimes a little milk. she goes the toilet normally.. should i be worried??

shes quite fluffy so she does look bigger i suppose, should you be able to feel the back bone i know its a stupis question i just cant remember noticing that before

heres a recent pic of her i know ir doesn help much because shes fluffy but you can see her overall x

yes you should be able to feel her backbone, if you cant the cat would be overweight,
I know when we had Tommy he was very fluffy with long fur so he did look bigger than he was when he was wet he looked all thin and scrawny he looked like a drowned rat.

Very difficult to say whether she is thin or not.If her spine is easily felt with little or no fat then I would say she probably is.What does she weigh and has she lost weight.I assume she has been spayed so you should be able to find her weight from vet records if you dont know.Have a look at this link it will give you an idea of what to look for. Aw what a cute kitty! I had the same worry about Sybil, she's a bit fluffier than Basil so I never really noticed anything at first. But when she came out of her shell and actually let me touch her she was so much thinner than Basil (who just feels quite solid - he's going to be a big boy!) The vet said she was fine though
