Litter tray stopped smelling!! :)

So I've had little Thomas a few weeks now and in the last week have fully got him on Animonda Carney and Smilla plus a couple of handfuls of Applaws dry each week in a treat ball (for a bit of fun and entertainment for him). I've noticed in the last week (since the 100% changeover) that his litter tray pongs have gone!
He uses it just as before and I've not used a different kind of litter (OKO plus)

Naturally I'm over the moon about it! Just shows what a difference their diet can make. I suppose the majority of his food is used up by his body and not pooped out now.
He's 4 months old now so I understand he may get pongy with his urine smell as he gets older before he is spayed (feb) but for now it's all good!! Hurrah

Hurrah indeed!!! Congratulations. The litter tray is the worst part of having cats I think. I've only grown to like it since I got a Litter Robot.

I have an image in my head now of what a "Litter Robot" may be. I bet when I google it I find I'm very disappointed!

You're probably imagining something far more glamorous than it looks in reality --it's really quite strange looking. But it is awesome. Here's its home page:

Woohoo! That's great! I'm changing my two over to Animonda, Bozita and Smilla starting next week and hopefully our litter tray pong will go away soon They were on Whiskas kitten and then I moved them to Applaws dry (PF has shown me that wet is still better!). Let's just say the litter tray pong was pretty 'special' when they were on Whiskas kitten with gravy

Re: Litter tray stopped smelling!! :)

See I didn't notice a huge decrease in the smell when I changed to Andy Carney, but then when they moved to my house (from my partners), then they have always been on Carney... cold turkey.

But then I do feed them Asda's Tiger dry too.
Good to hear though, and thanks for the robot litter tray link

Re: Litter tray stopped smelling!! :)

The smell difference with mine has been phenominal too. Oscar and Kitty eat Bozita, Hi Life and Top Life and tiny bits of cereal-free (I think that's the key) dry Orijen instead of Whiskas/Go Kat. They now both do two solid poos a day, morning and evening and, as long as they make attempts to bury them, there is zero smell. Even if they leave their offerings on display the smell is minimal!

On Whiskas/Go Kat Oscar was pooing 3-4 times a day, frequently very loose to the point of diarrhoea and the smell was unbelievable. Even if people are dubious about the benefits of feeding better quality wet food, the litter tray issue alone should encourage them!

I know, it's practically obscene how much it is. It took me about 3 years to work myself up to getting one--and that's after I don't know how many years hemming and hawing about the Litter Maid, which apparently doesn't even half work. But I tell you, it's the greatest investment ever. I love that Litter Robot so much, I even sing to it. Instead of going around the house with the scooper and the trashcan to 3 different boxes, I go to one, once a day, open a drawer, take out a bag, tie it, replace it and walk away. It's always clean, so nobody has issues with someone else's doodie being there to offend. I love it sooooooo much!
