Re: NEW MEMBER...Need advice please

I think to be on the safe side you should ring your vet and ask him. You can de-flea too much and I am not familiar with Spot-on; might need something stronger.

Welcome to the forum.

Re: NEW MEMBER...Need advice please

Hi and welcome to the forum.

May I ask if you used a spot-on prescribed by your vet or one off the shop shelf? If it was the latter, these are poor quality products that rarely treat the problem effectively. You are much better getting flea & worming products from your vet. I personally would recommend Advocate as an excellent flea spot-on treatment. Your vet would be able to advise how soon you can administer it after this recent treatment.

If, however, you have used a spot-on prescribed by your vet, then I would contact them to discuss the fact that it does not appear to have worked and see what they suggest going forward.

Re: NEW MEMBER...Need advice please

and traet your house with another anti flea product ie rip fleas.
As you may be aware the flea only uses the animal as a meal ticket and they actually reside in your enviroment.

This is good advice however, if your vet prescribes the Advocate I have suggested above, this is excellent at also treating the environment the animals live in so anywhere your pets go in your house will be 'treated'.

Last year - before using Advocate - and using Frontline, I was spraying & bombing the house like a mad thing but to no avail, the fleas were very stubborn. I moved onto Advocate in March of this year and haven't had to spray the house once since doing so.

Re: NEW MEMBER...Need advice please

I have to agree with the posts on Advocate - we treated our kitties with this when we got them and all the ear mites and fleas they had when we adopted them from a shelter pretty much instantly disappeared! Well worth a bit of extra money if it's an instant solution
