Re: Sick Kitten From France - Update
Thanks everyone for the kindhearted messages. My kitten was put to sleep today at the breeder's home. I am glad it went that way, at home surrounded by cuddles.
I am completely heartbroken. Even worst for the breeder who just realised that 2 her queens are also affected. Almost an entire line and years of hard work gone just like that. I hope to be able to start thinking of getting another kitten at some point this year. I am still completely in love with the Chartreux breed though and my kitten and importing has been quite a costly affair... I am thinking maybe the BSH Blue could be a strong contender considering it has once been crossed with the Chartreux breed but know virtually nothing about the breed, if anyone could help.... Thank you all once again, this is a fantastic forum! |

Re: Sick Kitten From France - Update
I have a BSH and I´m completely inlove, so what can I say. I got him from a shelter and he is almost four. He has adapted completely to our home, loves my legs and is very playfull. I keep telling him he is almost an adult
. He is quite active when he wants to and has a calm way of looking at us from his vantage position. For me he is the cutest cat but then I love chubby ones. If you need more info let me know. I do have him indoors as I live in a flat. |

I think it is a good idea to think of another breed after what you have gone through. We have had BSH for the last 17 years. They are a lovely breed. Kind and gentle and love company. Believe me once you have one you will want another and another ![]() Luckily they are easy to introduce to each other. They are best kept to a cat proofed garden like a lot of cats! They come in many colours. It might be a good idea to go to a few cat shows and there you will meet the breeders. Also i tend to always go for a small breeder that only breeds and looks after the kittens in their home and not stuck in out door encloseures away from family life. You can also adopt. You could try getting incontact with the British short haired cat club or keep an eye out on the adoption site on here. There are always a few coming through. We adopted Harley our creme boy at 11 months and as soon as I saw him and picked him up I had bonded with him. Take your time and one will soon come into your life. Any questions please ask me you can pm me. Jill
