Little mistakes

As some of you will know I have had a ex feral cat Puss Puss staying in my house now for about 10 weeks and she and Shadow are getting on so well. Both cats go out for about 5 hours a day and often returning and resting in our patio.
As Shadow is a fussy cat as to what he likes I feed both 2 pouches of Felix (from zoo plus as they wont eat from the supermarkets from this country) and 20grams of Applaws dry and a few smilia toothies just before I go to bed.
My problem is Puss sometimes leaves small (12mm long) stools around the house for the last 3 weeks now, but this morning there was a long stall just outside the litter boxes which I do believe it must be hers.
There are two litter trays which are kept clean and in fact one last night had all the litter removed and the tray washed and fresh litter placed inside. I have to say from the day she started coming in the house she used the litter tray without having to teach her. I use clumping little
Both are treated on the first of the month with advocate which is free to me from the vet as part of their insurance scheme.
Has anyone got any idea what is causing her to do this as I prefer your thought before I have to resort to taking her to the vet.
Sorry for the long post but I wanted to give as much info as possible.
Thanks guys.

Re: Little mistakes

I think she means stool?

Perhaps one of the foods is a little too rich for Puss Puss? May be an idea for her to be wormed; I know Advocat is supposed to be a wormer too isn't it but may be worth getting a different and dedicated wormer.

She has been on the same food for months but she is eating slower. I have put that down to spending more time inside so she doesn`t need to eat her food quickly like reral/outside cats would need too

Re: Little mistakes

Maybe she's marking her territory or is afraid to be vulnerable inside the tray where Shadow might 'attack' her.

Re: Little mistakes

You could try not cleaning the litter tray too vigirously, some cats like to have their own scent marking THEIR litter tray..
Just keep back a tiny bit of old litter and put it back in with the fresh one, and see if that helps...

Re: Little mistakes

Is the Felix from Zooplus really different to the stuff in the shops here?? Interesting.
As for the small stools......I sometimes find a stray little 'nugget' of poop around the house, but have always just thought it was stuck on a fluffy bum when the cat went to the loo outside and it has randomly dropped off inside. Not sure if that helps at all, or if there is a remedy a such.
I agree that the litter tray may just have been too clean, or smelt of the cleaning solution in the case of the whole poop.

Re: Little mistakes

As far as the litter trays are concerned I do have two but they both share each others and they seem to prefer the tray in one of the positions more so than the other position even if I swap the trays around, I hope that makes sense.
