Unhappy Cat gagging

Hi. My cat had some turkey to eat earlier, there were no bones in it but as he was eating it he made a gagging noise and has been gagging on and off ever since. He is asleep at the moment but seems to gag more when he moves. He is breathing ok. Anybody have any ideas please? Thanks for your help.

Re: Cat gagging

Can you see any obstructions down his throat? If he is still gagging I'm afraid I would be advising a trip to the vets, the other week Earl had a blade of grass stuck in his throat - the vet put him under sedation and removed it while we waited.

Re: Cat gagging

Hi. Am pleased to report that Rolo (my cat) is back to normal and eating well. Luckily he was ok the next day after spending the morning asleep (he usually goes straight outside after a night indoors but didn't), he woke up and started eating like nothing had happened. Thanks grace_lily for your help and etienne for your query
