Have you contacted the zooplus mothership to see whether they would send to Norway? |

Re: Wet food
Percy goes nuts over Animonda Carny, but he'll eat Smilla and Bozita in rotation as he has no choice. I think it's the beef in Carny.
His fur is a lot better, silkier and fuller, since he was swapped off regular Whiskas to a grain-free sugar-free diet. I wish I have the willpower to follow a sugar-free diet too... ![]()

Do you buy one variety at a time and just change your order to something else when you run out? Or do you feed them a different variety every day?Still glad I bought the Applaws dry - it's going in the treat balls I've ordered them. These kitties are going to bankrupt me ha ha Will have to try and work up to getting them some occasional raw for their teeth - am vegan and handling meat gives me the wiggins Can just about handle wet canned food as I still don't have to touch it!Last edited by Kat1703; 29-12-2011 at 07:41 PM.. |

Re: Wet food
Here's my shnizzle:
2 cats (6 months / 14 months) Two wet meals (of 100g) a day. Dry food down at lunchtime and as I go to bed. Water constantly, refreshed daily. Wet Food Brand: Andy Carney Price Per 400g: £1.08 Notes: They get 1/4 of a can in the morning and 1/4 in the evening. I buy the 12 x 400g from ZooPlus (one of each to cover all the flavours) and both fish flavours, rotated so they get a different one every day. I do feed Asda's Tiger every so often though as complimentary food. For instance, if one cat has to be starved due to vet operations, then I don't want to open a new tin of Andy Carney so I feed a pouch instead. Dry Food Brand: Asda's Tiger Price Per 100g: ~£0.10 Notes: I choose cheaper dry food as it's just a snacky food for them. However, I may try Applaws after seeing it on offer. A 2Kg bag lasts about two months. Litter Brand: Oko Plus Price: £25 / 40ltr LTR Per Week: 2ish Notes: Well, so far, a 40ltr bag has lasted since the 1st of October and there's still (at least) a month left! Not included in analysis: Raw Food: Asda's Smart Price chicken wings When: One every week, or so Price: £2/10 wings Treats: Asda's Tiger sticks / Dreamies When: Whenever I remember :P Price: £0.85/8 sticks Notes: I won't be buying any more dreamies. The sticks, yes. TOTAL COST PER WEEK: Wet Food: £7.56 Dry Food: £0.47 Litter: £1.25 TOTAL: £9.28 Not bad I guess. Some of the mathematics may be wrong, it's too early in the morning! |

In any event, I'm hoping this situation will only be for another year to a year and a bit, by which time, we (& the kitties) will have moved down under. Having had a bit of a read through the cat forums from oz, it seems that IAMs, Hills etc are what gets recommended as "good" food, so unless I find something else that's actually reasonable quality, I've already decided that once we move we'll be switching to an exclusive homemade raw diet. If I do find some reasonable quality wet food, I'll may combine that with the raw - but they will definitely be getting at least 50% raw after the move. I would already be considering a raw diet except between the cost, and more importantly the availibility of meat & offel etc it's just not possible, so for now I'm happy to make do with the Bozita, while it's not as good as it could be, it's certainly better than the supermarket brands. Re: Wet food
Not sure I agree that the Bozita in jelly/gravy is really any better than the supermarket fare but in your rather restricted circumstances one has to do with what one has.
By all accounts, Australia is as food poor but at least access to raw - even to some prepared raw food - is quite good. Have a happy new year! |
