Flea and worming treatments - how often?

Hi, I was just wondering how often cats and kittens need to have flea and worming treatments?
I have 2 cats - one a 2 year old and one a 6 month kitten. Both are indoor and until now, the older cat has had flea & worm treatment every 6 months and the kitten every other month.
Is this right or is this too often or too little?

Thanks

Re: Flea and worming treatments - how often?

Personally with an indoor cat I don't routinely treat for fleas at all. I give her a comb over with flea comb a couple of times a week and treat as and when I find anything, with my current cat that has been never.

With worming, again personally I tend to only treat if a problem presents itself. However, it would be easier to make a case for routine worming than it would be for flea treatment as the signs may not be as immediate or obvious. With an indoor cat I would consider every 6 months to be sufficient.
