Aberdeen is worse than useless for pet stores and I see neither of those are at PAH... Do you have any idea where is best to buy those online?

Oooh, we've all done that before, I'm sure And many still do, if they are not interested to find more information.

It seems more complicated at first, that's why if you ever feel you'd like them to be on raw, you'll need to read A LOT about the issue, to make sure the raw you're preparing is as complete as possible; this can be difficult because we also need to make the choices depending on the type of meat the cats approve. But then, in time, everything becomes very easy, like the routine of buying, but at least we know exactly what the food contains. I can't boast much with that when it's about the commercial food.

I am not sure age is a key factor. For instance, until September this year I was still feeding my cats with some Applaws dry, but one of the cats moved herself to only dry, which wasn't the best choice in my mind, and that determined me to stop buying it and pass to raw. My cats are 2 and 1/2 years old (and 3 and 1/2 respectively), and they were accustomed with kibbles since very young. It was a very difficult change for them, but can be done.

However, I believe it needs someone to be at home and feed them 3 times a day (or at least 2 times), I'm not sure if this is possible when the owner is at work since morning till afternoon, I don't know ...

or ... you could use a wire fence box, with an access opening to fit only the cats, something like that:

Not

Oh no! They would hate that, they dont really like the cat basket to get to the vets, they wouldnt like that at all! Our dog Faythe eats near the front door and the cats in the kitchen, so its no hassle at all to shut the door in the kitchen and let the kittys eat in peace.

Well I think I have sorted it everyone, thank you for your help. I looked at Zooplus, but tbh it seems really exensive their for their Applaws compared to PAH so Im wondering about their other prices... BUT I did find another thread here talking about TopLife available in ASDA and we bought a box of Purely in PAH too. I'm think a constant mix of Purely / Toplife once a day and Applaws kibble once a day get the cats on a good diet, or at least far better than their current diet and its affordable. I'm going to get them started on it all slowly over the next few days (I don't want them to have bad tummy's whilst adjusting to the richer food). I really do appreciate the help and advice from everyone, I will make the effort with Zooplus if those foods really don't agree with them.

It just went down in price at PAH, its £10 for a 2kg bag now. How much is your vets?

Oh and the cats had it for the first time in Cat form tonight! And they all ate it right up Starting with proper quality wet food tomorrow. I feel a lot better now knowing they will be getting some decent food for once.

I really cant believe how little the average pet owner knows about pet food. Its awful, the lack of information available unless you go searching for it, considering the amount of adverts on TV e.t.c you really do think that you are doing the right thing when actually you aren't.
